Glór na mBan released their debut album "The Sound of Women" in October 2005. Quoting the band on it ......" This album seemed to choose its own songs. The themes of the album emerged as we were drawn to the songs that filled it. The songs are a mix of ancient and modern, Irish and English, but are all about women or by women. Songs of love, hate, sorrow and happiness. Songs about real women and real lives, songs that tell their stories to the ages, the sounds of women. And a few tunes too! "
Reaction to the album has been phenomenal so far with the girls attracting TV, radio and newspaper attention.
CD buyers too, have expressed their delight:
"Sometimes CDs can be a bit disappointing but this one is absolutely lovely and I am thrilled with it, almost as good as seeing
them live. I've lost count of the number of times I've played it. Please let them know how delighted I am."
