They're going to be great festivals! Check out the Calendar page for details. | | | | | The rest is over!Saturday, July 14, 2007After a not-so-short break from play, Neasa, Ang and Mel are back at it.
They've recovered after Edie, their friend and flute player, went back to Ireland last year with her husband and one year old...and now they're all rested and recouped and ready to entertain you all again! The practices have begun again in earnest. This means lots of tea, and chocolate, and chat...with the odd song or tune thrown in!
So, roll on the festivals! | | | | | Having a breakMonday, December 04, 2006With summer on the way, Mel, Neasa and Ang are going to take a break, contemplate the future and generally chill out after a busy couple of years! | | | | | Good luck Edie!Monday, October 30, 2006Well, Edie has gone. The gir'ls gig there sold out for the second year in a row and unfortunately some people had to be turned away due to fire regulation restrictions. Apologies on our behalf to those people and we hope to meet you some other time at one of our upcoming gigs instead. Thanks to Kevin Meehan and the "Mainly Acoustic Music Club" who invited us to play, and to Wayne and Trish longstaff who provided us with such a lovely venue and a grand cup of tea before we started... always appreciated by Glór na mBan !! | | | | | Glór na mBan play at TePapa Museum, WellingtonSunday, May 07, 2006The girls were recently privilliged to play a concert in the beautiful setting of the Marae in Te Papa Museum, Wellington. | | | | | Summer in the city gig, WellingtonSunday, February 05, 2006Frank Kitt's Park was the venue for Glór na mBan to play a concert in February as part of Wellington city's council's "Summer in the city" festival. | | | | | Glór na mBan are a hit at the National Australian Folk Festival,CanberraThursday, March 24, 2005Glór na mBan made three appearances at the 2005 Australian National Folk Festival in Canberra. The band was really well received at the two main venues, the Merry Muse and the Pavilion, where audiences enjoyed the music songs and dance so much that they sold out of CDs! BUT the biggest cheer of all was the band’s entry in the “Most inspired version of an ABBA song” competition. Glor na mBan won their heat with “Irish Dancing Queen”! It must have been the leprechaun outfits that did it!
